Birthday MONTH: Day 9

My little "Birthday Gift Unwrapper Helper"...Oreo is such a ham for the camera, don't you think? I sat on the floor to open another present and before I knew it, she had brought me every toy she owned and placed them all around me. She knows that when Mommy gets on the floor, it's playtime! Little did she know...it was playtime for ME! Look at this poor little deprived face. Her fur is so black, she looks blue in the sunlight! This IS a funny photo now that I look at it closely!

She could be the next "Blue Dog". Do you see a resemblance, Yes?

Oh this is SO much fun. Did I tell you how much fun I am having???  I really didn't think that I could keep this up (posting everyday) but I'm surprising myself!!! Go Jodie! ;)

Remember these? Yep, they are still sitting on the floor in the library. In case you didn't know, I have LOTS of willpower, except when it comes to pizza! Open the box and I'm in it! (& it shows!)

I received two more presents in the mail from my BBF (best blog friend) Sandy of Sew Revived. Yay!

I thought I would open #1 & #2 from my sister Karen...

I love the bookmark and the card was beautiful. She sent us sentiments about Daddy...wishing she could be here with us to take care of him. Even though she is far away...she IS here in all of the love and support she sends. It's amazing how her love travels through phone lines and mailboxes...she's just amazing!

This is what was inside the big brown numbered bag...two gifts! Another brown bag and a beautiful organza wrapped gift. Which one would you like to open first?

DSC_0076

Okay then, lets start with the brown bag...

DSC_0078 (2)

Oh! It's another beautiful card with sweet words and a gift wrapped in tissue, tied with seam binding! It was such a pretty display...so hard to open it. Sometimes my POD (package opening disorder) gets the best of me, but with Oreo's help, we managed just fine to find this beauty tucked inside...

DSC_0079 (2)

A beautiful china mosaic heart on a ribbon that reads "celebrate"! My heart melted indeed...isn't this the prettiest little gift ever? This reminded me of my BBF Kelley of Teacups & Ponies as she makes the most beautiful mosaics with broken china, glass, shells, or anything she can get her hands on. Such beautiful talent!!!!

By the way, I'm so happy you are here, celebrating my Birthday MONTH with me. This is the most special party ever!!!

Ready for this one?

DSC_0077 (2)

Didn't she just wrap this fantastically? She said the organza wrap and the tassel came from Victorian Trading Company...I love that place! Let's see what's inside...

DSC_0080 (2)

A beautiful card! Isn't that vintage print on the cover just gorgeous???? Can you imagine having a cat as beautiful as that one? (Sorry Sharon, Miss Gracie IS as beautiful, if not more! ;)

DSC_0080 (3)

A "Footprints in the Sand" key chain. Oh I love it. And, a beautiful journal. I love to journal. I love to write. It's such great therapy.

Isn't this cool? She wrote some sweet sentiments in the front cover. Made me cry I tell you! She has such a beautiful handwriting...don't you think?

DSC_0081 (2)

Karen dated it September 2009. She wanted me to have this early so that I could write about the journey that Penny and I have been traveling with Daddy's Alzheimer's. She knows I love to write. I thought that was too sweet. I love the title "God Comforts You"...and I know He does just that. It's the perfect gift. Even though she's far away, she's still here with us, in every way that matters! SHE'S truly amazing!!! And, I'm so lucky!!!

Karen, when you read this, please know that I love you and appreciate all that you and Bill do for me! Give Bill a smooch from me! Now quit all that crying (she's so sentimental) and pull yourself together...I love you! Now you're laughing right???  :)

This weekend (October 9th, 10th & 11th)  is the Fall Antique Fair at the Antique School House in Washington, Louisiana

I am planning on going, but the weather will be HORRIBLE. If you have any doubt about the weather here, just watch the Weather Channel and look for the green, red and yellow blob over the state of Louisiana! IF I go...I promise to take you along!!!

Have a wonderful weekend!!!! I'll be back here tomorrow, you can count on it! ;)

Girl, you DO have some willpower, I don't know HOW you've managed looking at all those pretty gifts and not gotten into them. Worth the wait, though! Your sweet doggy is just so cute! You should see under my desk where I'm sitting now. There are at least 6 catnip toys in a pile. Pets, gotta love 'em! I think it must be raining Everywhere today! Here too.
Have a fun weekend! Debra

Besides being so creative and talented, you also have the gift of writing. Every post is well thought out with love and detail in every message. So special! Your gifts are just fantastic. I really don't know how you have the willpower to let them sit and wait. I am sure that you deserve such special treatment as it seems that you are also very giving. What you put out into the world is what you get back! Enjoy it all. I hope that you are able to enjoy the Fall Antique Fair despite what the weather forecast may be. And look forward to seeing tomorrow's goodies! Best wishes, Tammy

Happy Birthday Month to You! Ha, it's my birthday month too. My hubbie always accuses me of stringing my birthday out for two weeks, wait until he hears that I will be celebrating my Birthday for a month. Happy Birthday Month to ME! I can hear his groan now... Thanks for sharing your well loved life with us... now go open something!!! It's driving me crazy not knowing what's in all those bags! xo -Julie

Yes, my goodness. this is just too fun. I take it you were not the child that snooped for Christmas presents in your Mom and Dad's hiding places, or even worse - opened them and rewrapped them! (I can't believe people do that. That just takes all the fun out of it.)
You are lucky that your little Miss Oreo is a GOOD DOG! If there were presents on the floor where my two could get to them all the time - they'd be torn open and strung around the room with wild abandonment!!! We have to gate them off from both of the trees at Christmas. :(
I WANNA GO ANTIQUING!!!! I love the wild weather - we'll have a blast! Come on!!! Hot chocolate is on me . . .

Hugs and have a safe trip!

I think I'm enjoying your birthday as much as you are. This is fun!
Your sister is a sweetheart and must love you so much. Sounds like she's there in spirit. It's wonderful that you write things down. I have found that it is the best kind of therapy too.
Oreo is a doll.
Hugs,
June

WHAT???? You're neat and you don't like clutter????? Oh yeah, I forgot, you don't like glitter either! Ha ha. If you ever come to my house you'll probably get the heebie-jeebies.
Love ya anyway, even if you are neat! :) Debra

Jodie,
You had Miss Gracie worried there for a moment - whew! After all, you two practically share a birthday. She is feeling pretty good about your comment though! She is hoping that you are giving Oreo his playtime because those furballs really need it. :-) Now about those gifts.... this is the best month ever. Such lovelies, from the wrapping to actual gifts. How much fun. I can't believe you have 22 more days of gifts to open. I want to come back as you in my next life (or my own cat, of course) :-).
Happy 9th day of your birthday month!
Sharon :-)
