Welcome...the Tea is ready!!!

DSC_0331 (2)

Oh how HaPpY I am to have you join me today in the celebration of Kim's Blogging Tea Party...

I am sure The Victorian Parlor was decorated so lovely and smelled of sweet confections and warm tea. I just love visiting Kim's cottage, she is ever so welcoming and kind.

DSC_0282 (2)

I hope you still have room for a sip or two of tea with me. Please join me for a chat as I just love to have company, especially with a delicious cup of tea in hand!

A friend? Sure! You are more than welcome to bring along a friend...Isn't she the cutest little doll...What is her name?

girl with bare feel and doll (2)

My motto is "the more the merrier" as I have prepared a setting ready for three. Nothing matches but that's the beauty of it.

DSC_0220 (3)

I've never owned a beautiful china teapot. I admired many but I remember my Maw Maw saying "The pot might be pretty but it's what's inside that counts". That's been a long long time ago since I've heard them words but still today I am using her old plastic pitcher. And you know what? It still makes for good tea (& memories too!). My old grandmother, she was something else!

DSC_0233

Oh dear, and don't get me started on the roses! Maw Maw would cut roses from of her yard and place them all over in the house. She wasn't big on the idea of a vase as she thought any old glass that held water within reach would do.  (And it's true!)

With all of her windows open, that Southern breeze would come right through and fill the room with rose-scented perfume! Those were such simple times. Such happy times.

Oh I am rambling on...Please dear, have a seat and tell me all about your tea party trip through blog land thus far ~

girl with doll in chair (2)

Me? oh. I haven't had the chance to tea party hop yet. I've spent all morning cleaning, decorating and baking just for you! Speaking of baking, go ahead and take one of each, there's plenty!

DSC_0222 (2)

I'll pour us each a cup of tea. Do you like sweet or unsweetened? I make my tea unsweetened so you can sweeten it up as much as you like.

DSC_0264 (2)

Just grab a spoon and some sugar...

DSC_0288

You love those spoons too? Yes girl, they are beautiful! Kelley sent me those spoons not too long ago.  I just love Kelley, she's a sweetie. I love visiting her farm too but that's a whole 'nother story. You know how I can ramble on...

So what else have you been up to lately?

cat at tea party (2)

Oh come on now, let's not talk about the silly old economy and ruin our afternoon of delicious tea. Would you like another cup? Maybe some more sweets?

DSC_0280

How has the weather been in your neck of the woods? It's been so crazy here in Southern Louisiana. It's been hot and humid and every day is a bad hair day. What's a Southern Belle supposed to do? I guess just stay out of the heat I tell ya. We should have tea parties more often just to curve that thirst and cool off a bit.

DSC_0266 (2)

Go ahead now, tell me all about Kim's tea party. I want to know all about it. I am sure she totally spoiled you in vintage goodness so spill the details and make me green with envy~

cat joins tea party (2)

Are you serious? While you were at the Parlor, Kramer was enjoying tea with ya'll too? I thought she'd have put him away in another room while having company! But in all reality, who could resist that spoiled, beautiful, furry friend rubbing around on ankles and purring as if he just loved everyone in the room???? After all, I'm sure he doesn't even know he's a cat!

cat tea party (2)

Cat tea parties just wouldn't be the same as blogging tea parties. That would be much too 'normal' for Kramer. He would be totally bored and uninterested, what do you think?

DSC_0272

My goodness, look at the time. I know you have more parties to go to. Time flies when you're having fun, we'll have to do this again soon.

Well I thank you for stopping by. I see there is a little tea and some sweets left. I would like to share them with my husband.

DSC_0299 (2)

After all, he did run to the corner store to pick up some last minute ingredients for me. Now I am sure he is ready for me to pay my dues ;)

couple afternoon tea

Don't worry about the mess, I have all afternoon to clean up.

You know, the whole fun of putting this together is worth the clean up, don't you think?

baby tea party in messy play room (2)

I so enjoyed my visit with you. I hope I didn't keep you too long and I hope you have plenty of time to have tea and visit with others who are attending the party.

Thank you for coming to the Blogging Tea Party hosted by Kim at The Victorian Parlor.

It was a delightful visit with you &

I promise to make my rounds shortly!

Special thanks goes to...

Jodie,

You never cease to amaze me with your artistic gifts! These photos need to be on note cards-they are absolutely beautiful! What a lovely set-up you have and everything is sooo delicious:). Unfortunately my current pre-tea party pictures show a bit of disarray at Terra Cottage but I will have proper pictures up later today:). It took me a while to stop laughing regarding the Kramer post-you really are the best auntie:)!

Thank you again for being a co-hostess with me! I really enjoyed taking tea with you! Stop by later today for more tea pics at Terra Cottage:).

Blessings dear friend,

Kim

Jodie, what a wonderful post for the tea party! I feel as if i have actually sat down in your home with you to have a sweet cup of hot tea, eat a few of those delicious cookies (well knowing me, I would eat more then just a few!!), and smell your lovely pink roses. And in between all the goodies, enjoy viewing those lovely vintage postcards. And then to send some sweet chocolate kisses with me for on the way home. What a perfect hostess you are, making me feel right at home! Your post was set up with such artistic taste, just a delight. I had such fun visiting here!! Debby

Well that was worth the flight to Louisianna--really Jodie everything was just lovely. You do have the best collection of graphics I have ever seen. The last one with the mess was my favorite---that is exactly how I feel after I have hosted a party. Do you have roses already???? I keep forgetting it is June already--of course you do---they are beautiful.

My Gosh Jodie, this was the most fun I've had at a tea party ever! You are a wonderful hostess. The tea was good, the food was yummy, and the company couldn't have been better. I love, love, love the beautiful photos and the darling prints, and your southern accent. What? People from Idaho do not have an accent! Anyway, this was so much fun and you put so much work into it, that I insist you let me help you clean up. By the way, did you notice that your hubby is leering at you?
I hope we can do this again soon,
Hugs,
June

I had so much fun at your very elegant tea party. If you are missing some of your beautiful cookies ~ well, I might as well tell you where they went.... (on my hips) But I enjoyed everyone one or ten of them. You set a lovely table and I love things mismatched and for your grandmother's memories...they reminded me of mine. Thanks ever so much! Many Happy Blessings, Kt

I know I'm late (just like the White Rabbit)so don't go to any bother for me. I just need a place to sit and unwind for just a moment and I'll take a cookie please! It was all so lovely...too bad I missed all the charming ladies who came by. I'll try to be prompt the next time.

Besides the tempting goodies, I've enjoyed the stroll down memory lane. Everything was so beautiful. The tiered dessert plate is just gorgeous. Oh, and thanks so much for the lovely gifts!

Oh Jodie!
You really out did yourself. Please pardon me for stopping by so late, but I just had to come. Everything looks so beautiful, I simply love the spoons from Kelley and all the lovely vintage images. And just when I thought it could not get any better, you said I could even save some -- however did you know I was drooling over them... I am still amazed by that right click trick... Ahhhh virtual life, who knew it could be so fascinating.

Well dear, must run, thanks for having me over. It has been a pure delight. I do have a little treat for you btw, so when you get a moment, stop by, I have left the side gate open for you...
Until then

Hi Jodie! Me again. I really enjoyed you tea party. It's funny because I am participating in the Mad Hatter Tea party at the end of the week. You and I have done VERY similar parties! (Great minds think alike, eh??) Actually I think yours is a little better. I love the conversation. Okay... I'm off now. See you later!!!
