You may have come with me a few weekends ago here, but since I love taking you along with me everywhere I go, how about we spend the day at another one of my friend's camp along the lake...let's go! It's a whopping 91 degrees out so dress cool!
My car is a little messy as I've just had a BK lunch and I'm listening to the tunes of Aretha Franklin...I'm all by myself so I'm so glad you could join me!
Well, I'm not all by myself...I have friends in front and behind me (I can multitask such as drive and snap pictures but I can't turn around, drive, and snap!) But you get the picture...
After about an hour drive, we are now at Lewis & Julie's camp. Let's park, stretch our legs and enjoy the views.
We are greeted by moss covered oaks...
And the sounds of water...splashing on the shore.
Make yourself at home and fix you a drink. Grab a snack or two since I ate without you and we'll take a walk around the grounds, it's a beautiful day!!!
The boys are going sailing so we will just stroll the grounds and admire the peacefulness of the shady surroundings...
Above is an original oil painting of the camp, a view from the lake. It is magnificent!
But let me show you the details...
Oh look, the boys are coming in from sailing...let's go see!
Whew! Watching them makes me tired (& nervous)...I think I'll call it day. Let's say we take a ride on home...Aretha is in the car waiting for us!

Man this looks like fun!!!! I sure miss the the Beach, maybe I will have to do the lake here!!!! enjoy!
I would not have been able to stay out of that boat. I am a water and boat lover. My daughter and family have a gorgeous houseboat with 4 brooms and 2 full baths. They are very private people and will not allow me to post pictures, but I have a wonderful spot on the lake where my brother lives that he loves to show off. I'll post about that one day. Blessings

oops, not 4 brooms, 4 bedrooms.

So refreshing. I love the moss. I too would have been on the boat. Do the girls HAVE to stay behind. Ummm Jodie, how come there are no pictures of you swinging over the lake on that rope? I know you could do it. Thanks for taking us on this little trip, Hugs, Pam
I love your photos, Jodie! I guess you could say I really R-E-S-P-E-C-T you! ;) ~Lori
Hi Jodie,
I'm eyeing that swing and thinking 'that could be fun' Just the swing though, not the one over the water. The scenery is beautiful. Just what I expected from LA. Your pictures are always so cool to look at. Oh, by the way can I drive? I get car-sick and I know you don't want that for your car.
Hugs,
June
Great photos. I left a comment for you on your tea post yesterday. So glad to meet you!

LUCKY!

You just know I'll have my big old poodle butt riding shotgun with my face out the window! Can we take the hard top off? You are going to clean off my seat, right?
Now if you are going to be taking photos, you'd better let me behind the wheel. Yea! A manhattan for each hand for going down to the lake...or is that a bayou?
Did you say boys...I like boys! Reckon you could send me a big ol' box of that spanish moss...I'd pay the postage? What do you mean you're taking me back to town? I don't talk too much...what are you saying? Oh, I DRINK too much!
(Yes you can say that...you did didn't you?)
Debbie

Hi
Wow what a fun day .
thank you for sharing.
Happy Trails
Thanks for the terrific trip to the lake! And I didn't even have to take my hiney out of the chair, you did all the traveling for me. Have a great Monday!
I'm sorry if I repeat my self but.... home!!!!! Oh Jodie!! How delightful to see Spanish Moss! My dad lives on the water and has a wharf (well not quite this fancy pants) so I'm transported to my childhood! That does it! I have to go visit my Daddy o next summer! I'm going to start saving up... That means that you'll be getting a visitor from this little chickadee too!! Ha!
Oh what a beautiful day! It looks like such fun with all of that food and the beautiful views. Ahhhh...I could have lounged there all day long:). I love your Vette and the other two as well! When I was younger (in the 70's-heehee) I wanted a Stingray so I enjoyed seeing the pics of your friends' cars:). Thanks for taking me along-I enjoyed the lake trip!
Blessings,
Kim
Thanks for visiting my blog on Saturday! The tea party was so wonderful and I've heard from so many people.
I love the water too and wish I could be closer to Kim, but am currently landlocked. So at this point it's best to live vicariously thru others who do have access to the water. This is a lovely post and I thoroughly enjoyed it!
Oh my goodness - the photos are fantastic!! This is just the type of place that I've been looking for, for a weekend get-away.
I'm so glad that you had a wonderful time.
Hey chick! Now I know your going to have to come to my lake! We can sit on the pier while we drink some coke and crown! heheLooks like you had fun!! big hugs
