Birthday MONTH: Day 5

The In-Laws...

DSC_0001 (2)

My husband's family is VERY small, unlike my own family. Matter of  fact, he only has two sisters so they've become an awesome addition to the three wonderful sisters that I have of my own, making a total of 5! And I must not forget my two brother's wives too...where is this story going???? excuse my ADD...

Back to the birthday post. This wonderful grouping of birthday goodies above is from Thad's family and I must say...

they KNOW ME WELL  :)))

Belinda knows I love everything Paris...she gave me a wonderful set of Paris book boxes! Aren't they beautiful?

Polli knows I love me some Chinese food...hence the "New Peking" gift card for a dinner for two. I'm debating though...should I enjoy it twice or should I share and bring The Man with me?

(let's vote on that one ;)

And, last but not least...his Mother supplied me with my garage sale $$$ for the weekend!!!! :)))

If I have any $$$ left, I'll take it to Washington this weekend and spend it at the Antique School House Fair this Friday, Saturday and Sunday!!!

(the web site is showing the wrong dates, it should be the 8th, 9th, & 10th)

DSC_0117

This is a fabulous place (year-round) as this beautiful old two story school house and the old gymnasium are FULL of dealer booths inside!

But this coming weekend, even the grounds around the outside will be full of dealer tents too. It's becoming one of the largest antique fairs in the area. It's just awesome!

I always find some GREAT deals...

and unfortunately some that I SO regret passing up...

I posted about it before here so if you're in the area of Washington, Louisiana (off of I-49) ... this is a "must not miss" weekend!

And as an added bonus, for ONCE we are enjoying Autumn-like weather here in Louisiana. There isn't any rain in the forecast, the humidity is low and the temperatures are in the low 70's. It's just perfect :))) It even makes all of us Cajuns a little frisky!!!! ;)

If you are coming, let me know...I'd love to have a snack with you at the little School House Cafe!!!!! (The pie is absolutely DELISH!!) Heck, it'll even be MY treat! (limit...um...let's say 20! haha)

don't fret...you have 4 more days to think about it ;)

****

And about my birthday comments...you guys are TOO funny!

Yes...I CAN admit it ... I'm spoiled. Very spoiled.

Like I've always said, I have the best family and friends in whole world!!!!!! Thank you!!!!!!!!

Update on the cookie cake in the last post:

Sister Penny's cookie cake was (note that I'm saying "was") delicious! I have no idea what happened to the photo and why I had so much trouble with the post  :(

The School House Fair sounds amazing...wish I was within driving distance. Will look forward to pics. That little bathtub is the sweetest thing ever.

Jodie...I am so into celebrating the whole month for a birthday...that is my kind of thinking. Girl, you win the award for being spoiled. My hubs is good to me...but I don't have the extended family that obviously love you bunches!! Enjoy all those goodies...and I say, break down and take the hubs....you gotta feed him one way or another!!

Cookie for a cookie...how sweet is that?
I'm thinking you may have to build another room for all the gifts that keep coming in!
Isn't this weather fab, but girl...it ain't the temps making you frisky...it's turning 40!

Thad's family had really made their thoughts of what you would like, Jodie. That's so sweet! The Paris book boxes are pretty and great to keep some treasures. Have fun spending the garage sale money and enjoy the Chinese food!
I guess I won't make it to the Antique School House Fair, so you have to have a piece of pie for me :-).

Julia

I've always wanted a cookie cake for my birthday and never gotten one. That one looks tasty! I might go out and get a cookie cake and make up a holiday for it...

Good morning! I remember your post from last year about that little tub. Sigh.I hope it's been happy even though it didn't get to live at your house.
How cute is all this. Love the cake! I would love some pie but I think I like my bed for a few more months. I'm done with being away for a while.
Dang Girl! When are you going to open it?

Hi Jodie
First of all Happy Birthday Month! Second... I saw the mention of the old schoolhouse and SQUEED out loud when I saw you were in LA too--I live in Glenmora, (if you haven't you absolutely MUST visit the two flea markets here) and have friends who'll be vending in WA this weekend. I'm not going to sell this time--just snap photos for all our blogs and get my shop on! What day are you planning on being there? I'm thinking Friday morning/early afternoon with the possibility of Sunday too (have a lot of things to squeeze in this weekend.) It would be great to meet a fellow arty, bloggie, vintage loving flea market gal!!
