Now since Homecoming is OVER, I need a really BIG favor...
Can you please help me unpack?
That's right, I've never unpacked from my Texas trip last weekend...
Please excuse the mess...My library is currently a mixture of stuff that was just thrown on the floor from the second I walked in from the garage.
I'd love it if you sat with me and helped me unpack so I can enjoy my finds with you all over again...what do you say?
First up, I'd like to show you what Karla and Beth treated me with when I met up with them at the hotel in Texas last weekend.
This mini crown was from Karla, with lots of background goodies from Beth...
This was a beautiful snippet of a lace piece given to me by Beth and a velvet cuff made by Karla...
I received a cute little burlap bag filled with goodies from Beth...
These two girls are so awesome and so very generous...I loved every second that I spent with them.
Next up are the goodies that I found shopping around Warrenton/Round Top.
This was my favorite find below.
It's an old Clark's spool of thread display cabinet.
It too was just placed on the floor until I find the perfect place for it. I have found many of them here and there and all of them were either priced too high or not for sale. This one however was perfect for ME at a good price and a well loved exterior that I admire so much. It had my name all over it :)))
um..well..maybe this was my favorite find below...
It's a purse made by the one and only Robelyn of red.neck.chic.
You can find her beautiful handmade bags made of fabric remnants mixed with the unique goodies of Mindy at the Primitique...
As a bonus to my beautiful new bag, I added my nametag that Julia made me a couple of months ago. I think it's just perfect!
Lisa found this wonderful vintage photo album for me and I just fell in love with it. She has such a good eye.
I'm sad the cover is busted up but the photos inside made up for it!
I may just tear the album apart and use pieces of it here and there.
Don't panic about me tearing it apart. Most of the pages are already separated from the spine. Plus...I want to add these cabinet cards to my extended family.
Isn't this one such a cutie? She looks like an angel with feathered wings...
Beth shared her porcelain numbers that she found and I love my funeral cabinet card. I collect these as I love everything "funeral" and death (but not in a creepy kind of way). This little cutie was a precious find too...
And while shopping with Suzanne and her daughter Elizabeth in Fayetteville, I picked up some 50 cent items like this little rusty scale and old jigsaw puzzle. The story book was a little more than 50 cents but I fell in love with the cover so who's counting pennies anyway, right? ;)
These were all my cool finds above but I think the most awesome "deal" of the trip for me was these old door back-plates...
I've been paying about $5-$8 a piece for them in the past. I'd have to pick my very favorites and only buy a couple at a time. But while in Warrenton, I found a ziploc bag containing 32 of them. The dealer sold me the whole bag for $30!!!! Thirty dollars! That's less than a $1 a piece! :)))) What a nice man!
I also bought those old hinges in the upper right hand corner too. I have a "thing" for rusty old chippy hardware.
Not sure why...I just do.
The wooden box above is an old cassette holder. My sister in law was out junking and she picked it up for me (she's such a sweetie). Do you have any ideas what I could do with it? I thought I had seen a great idea once on someone's blog but I've drank too many diet cokes since then and I surely don't remember ;(
So this my dear is what I'm doing on this day, DAY 3 of my birthday month. As I type this, my clothes are washing, the Saints just beat the Panthers and all is good in the LeJeune household.
oh...let me add that I'm stitching away on a swap that I'm participating in and I am LATE in turning it in :(((
I've never been late on any swap but it's a good thing that Sandy loves me.
So if you are in her Vintage Glove Fat Book Swap, don't blame her for being late. Blame me, my birthday, and my travels...it's all MY fault. I'll get my pages to her before the weekend so she can put them all together and get them out to you asap!!!
I thank you for helping me unpack my goodies from Warrenton/Round Top and...
I THANK YOU for all of my wonderful Birthday comments both here and on Facebook. You guys are the best!!!! :)))
We still have many gifts to open in the near future. Here is just a few that I haven't opened yet!!!!
This one is really making me curious!...
Although I didn't open it ON my birthday because I was so busy with Homecoming...it sure is striking my curiosity! I can't wait to dig in to it, but I promise not to do it without YOU!
Besides, we have all month!!!!
See ya tomorrow!!!!

NOW GO OPEN SOME PRESENTS! We're dying over here!!
It was so much fun helping you unpack the goodies from Round Top, Jodie :-)! You found some really cool things and these door plates were a great bargain! I just love the thread cabinet. What an awesome find! The album is very pretty and has the cutest pictures. Since I saw what you created with the quilt you had cut up some months ago, I don't panic anymore when you tell us that you're going to tear something apart. I know the new creation will be gorgeous and certainly worth it :-).
That vintage glove fat book swap sounds intriguing and the sneak peak of your page looks very promising.
Have fun opening the packages and don't forget to let us help :-)!
Big hugs,
Julia
Hey there Jodie,
the Clarks drawer/cabinet thingee is to die for. What a find!
I have one that is 3 drawers and I keep my jewelry in it.
Shawn.
Those are awesome finds Jodie. I love the spool cabinet and that old photo album is to die for.
What a wonderful birthday month for you this is.
xo Tina
You came back with some awesome treasures. The thread cabinet has got to be my absolute favourite though, I love it. Can I be just a little bit envious???
Oh, and I picked up an old wooden cassette holder thingy as well a couple of weeks ago, and have no idea as yet what to do with it, lol. If you come up with something brilliant, do let me know please ;-)
YOu got me hooked on wondering what on earth you could do with that box -the casette holder. I got a couple ideas - you could keep it to stock buttons - different sets in each row. YOu could use it to store jewellery charms or beads. YOu could use it to store postcards, old letters, bills (urgh)or recipe cards or old holy pictures....
Everything is wonderful but that spool cabinet makes my heart beat faster! I've always wanted one, too. They are usually just too darned expensive! Congratulations!
xo
Claudia
Loving all your treasures Jodie!! Can't wait to show my honey how you are posting each day of your birthday month...he thinks I made birthday months up!!
You are going to be so spoiled by the time Halloween gets here...I wouldn't be surprised to see you try to celebrate until Thanksgiving!
Telling me about the spool cabinet and seeing it...oh mylanta. It's gorgeous!
I know you like to take your time opening gifts...but you are killing this chubby girl in Texas with suspense!
Debbie
You really are too spoiled Ms. J. But you deserve it. You really do need to open that "open on your birthday" one. I think since this is the big 40 it should be your birthday year, that way when it ends on September 30th 2011 you can start right up with your birthday month!
I would LOVE to help you unpack! Although I might drool a bit on your stuff!! Not too mention a few of those amazing backplates ( SCORE!!) might "accidentally" jump in my bag!!
OH WOMAN! Just open the box! Because it really isn't from me! YAY!
got back from our week long trip last night. And guess what? IT'S RAINING HERE!
WHOOO HOOO!!! Love it, love it, love it!
Can't wait to see what you else you picked up at Round Top!
HUGS! Karen
Wow girlie~~~~ you are having a fun birthday month!! Good for you!
Love it:))
