With Love from Missouri...

Before I start, I have to tell you how much you made me laugh when I read your comments from the last post! You girls are so funny and I'm soooooo happy to know that I'm not the only nosey person in the world!!!!!

;)

Since I would really feel so bad about killing anyone with suspense, let's open a package together!!!!

This beauty came all the way from Missouri.

Wrapped in tissue and tied with satin and lace, Mother Mary guarded this cute little gift down the Mighty Mississippi River, safely to Louisiana :)

With those two hints above, of course I'm talking about the glorious Debra of Common Ground.

Debra and I go way back as she and I have (virtually) visited each other here in blog sphere for the past two years.

It's amazing how one can get to know a person (so in depth) just by reading a blog. It's just amazing!

Debra has touched so many people (including me) with her gift of giving, inspiration, art and faith.

Her sweet little bird note read,

When I saw this, I knew it had to be yours.

It was published in 1901 and it is a first edition.

It's not in the best condition on the outside, but the pages are all timeworn and well loved.

Many little girls, just like you, have enjoyed it.

Hugs & Kisses,

Debra

Debra knows me...

I love all things loved and timeworn.

I love that this little book is about my beloved New Orleans.

I love that this little book is well over a century old and many little fingers have flipped though the pages.

I love each little fold, bend, pencil mark, aged discoloration, and scuff that graces the cover.

Isn't this little treat just totally awesome?

Isn't this just totally ME?

(not that "I'm" awesome...the BOOK is!)

haha!

Thank you Debra!!!!

Friendship is Priceless!

Thank you for sharing the excitement of my gift with me.

Tomorrow we'll open another one together  :)

Debra's find for you is a true treasure. I saw many like that during all my thrifting adventures, but none of them about New Orleans. How totally appropriate! I did buy a few books from the same timeframe. Amazing how they have been kept for so long and can be bought for a few dollars. So glad you received your package -- just a little something to say thank you for your kindness and for inspiring us all. Best wishes, Tammy

Hi Jodie,
I loved the suspense waiting for you to open your gifts. That little book is so sweet.
I am only a 'fresher' at blogging but already am truly hooked, sometimes my friends online have kept me sane in a crisis and for that I love you all.
Hugs, Angela.
