WHERE "VINTAGE" BLOGGERS CREATE II

WhereBloggersCreateII

Wow, the time has already come...

WELCOME!!!

Tell me now, was I the ONLY participant in the whole wide world who was STRESSED about this day?

It seems like every day since Miss Karen Valentine set the date, I've been thinking of how I could possibly "out do" my post of last year's wonderful inaugural event...

everything vintage studio tour WBC 2009

Last year, I was fortunate to have the most wonderful hostess to show you around my our little studio.

She is my partner in crime, my playmate, and my creative muse.

I'm talking about the co-owner of my our creative space, my pretty little Southern dress form...

 Miss Sophie.

sophie1 copy

Sadly, this year she turned in her apron and refused the top hostess job at the everything vintage studio tour WBC 2010.

I found her resignation letter slipped under the door within an hour of this post going online.

(like I really needed that stress, right?)

She said she was embarrassed because my our studio was too messy and she wasn't going to be any part of the party unless I cleaned it up before I posted about it.

Well friends, as you know I've been too busy playing, too busy traveling and I'm so over stressing about it, so as of today...

my our studio is still not tidy,

Miss Sophie is currently drawing unemployment,

and the good news is...

I will be your hostess today ;)

You see...for me, it's not all about the "mess".

Nor is it about the "decor".

~ Let me tell you about MY studio ~

It supplements me with the tools I need to create...

DSC_0188 (4)

It nourishes my roots of creativity so I can continue to blossom...

DSC_0149 (2)

It provides ample storage to save my dreams until I find the time to make them come true...

DSC_0118 (2)

It creates a future to share with others who are willing to take what I have to offer...

DSC_0132 (3)

and my our creative space is so much more.

Before I sat at the computer to write this post, I walked into my our "messy" Mardi Gras studio and looked around one last time, thinking "how am I going to pull this one off without my Miss Sophie?"

I smiled and grabbed my camera.

It was then and there that I knew exactly what I wanted to show you for the party today...

MY "real life" creative space full of love, friendship, creativity and inspiration...no matter what state it is in at the moment.

DSC_0196

Sorry about the interruption...Miss Sophie is VERY protective (& embarrassed) of my our untidy Mardi Gras studio.

Please forgive her lack of manners.

THIS IS MY OUR CREATIVE SPACE...

DSC_0105

If you are thinking it is a little messy and cluttered, I would totally agree with you.

But MY studio is not a "show place" by ANY means.

It is a CREATIVE SPACE full of potential...

MY studio is just plain full of ME and everything I love...

full of everything vintage  :)

And with my tools within my reach...

I will create :)

I really need to go butter up Miss Sophie and beg her to play with me again. I'm sure she's so mad at me right about now ;)

Before I go, I really want to

Thank you for visiting my our creative space here at everything vintage.

As always, Miss Karen Valentine puts on a wonderful party. MANY thanks goes to her for all the hard work she puts into this...it was SO much fun :)

Jodie,
Your creative space is everything I expected and more! Our shared love of all things vintage had me swooning with every picture you posted. I know I could spend hours in that room.
I went back and looked at my post for last year's party. I had just started my blog and you were one of the first to comment and one of my first followers. Thank you for that. It was comments like yours that encouraged me to stick with blogging and sharing my ideas.
My room isn't posted yet...just got home from work and have to get the post written....check back later.

What a BEAUTIFUL MESS....I cannot wait until I can mess mine up. I think studios should never be clean, because if they are, that means we are in a rut with our creativity. I also can't wait to fill every nook and cranny with the gifts I receive from my friends. I love being reminded of the love I have for each one. This studio is over the top gorgeous, but it is what comes out of here that is really wonderful.
Shame on Sofie, for leaving you in the lurch like this...tsk,tsk on her.

I sure remember Miss Sophie :-)

Now, as to your creative space . . . your haven . . . I don't think it's messy at all. WEll, when it comes to creativity flowing, I don't think it counts to call it a messy place when bits and pieces are everywhere. It just goes to show that in every corner, there are ideas forming and projects waiting to be discovered and created. So, yes, not messy at all. Let's agree on that one :-)

Also, thanks Jodie for your sweet comment. I appreciate it very much. I don't know if I have been that strong during those times, but I sure try to - with God's help, I . . . we tried.

Mizpah,
Li

(the Episcopal church and it's surroundings - - I think it is just beautiful and I love that it is full of stories to tell after all these years. But at the same time, when I imagine it at night, wouldn't it be eery? Or does that just make me a scaredy cat? LOL)

Hey giRl! Loved your tour! And yes... I SO wish we lived closer together! I want to play and make the things I see ya'll making! I have to get in on some of these swaps sometime, but it has to be one that I have something in abundance of. I don't have too much stuff yet to work with, but I'm working on that! Did you see that lace in the last few picts on my blog? I saw it as a yard sale and just couldn't breathe! I looked around to see if anyone was around and started grabbing this stuff! TONS of old stuff, but some of it was really too ragged and messy to do anything with. How do you remove stains from things so dainty and old?
HOpe to talk to you soon!
Have a good evening!

Jodie, I LOVE your creative space! I don't see messy at all, just a lot of wonderful discoveries waiting to be used in just the right way! For me personally, too neat a room dulls my creative spark to a standstill. Too chaotic, and I spend more time hunting than creating.

Your studio has a comforting coziness, yet exciting energy that leaps right out of my monitor. You have found just the right balance in so many ways!

Thank you SO much for sharing it with us! It is very inspiring to me!

Hugs,
Suzie

P.S. Tell Miss Sophie that she had absolutely nothing to worry about, and she owes you an apology!

I'm so far behind on Paper Cowgirl crap that I've only been able to visit a few blogs. I'm so glad Karen is taking the time to permalink to the posts. Sure will make it easy to visit everybody belatedly. Looking forward to meeting you @ PC!

I'm late, I'm late...I am telling you I have finally made it to the "E's" girlfriend!!! You don't know how many times I wanted to sneak over here but I hung in there and continued on my alphabetical blog party journey. I am such a boring old soul...lol...no stepping out of order here, nope, no can do, not going to happen..Geesh...

What is up with Miss Sophie? Has she gone mad??? I wouldn't kick you to the curb for a teeny, tiny mess. Someone should talk to that girl.

I knew I would love your studio, it is amazing. Over~flowing with everything vintage and so many beautiful goodies. I love seeing all the things you hold dear as it just makes things easier for me in a few weeks. I certainly would love to come and play in your studio some day. I could read your posts over and over, you always bring a huge smile to my face, you crack me wide open sweetie. Thanks so much for sharing with us. Tell Sophie to get over it...
Hugs,
Debby

This is a place where a crafter can create. It is well appointed and so functional. It is what YOU make it and if you don't have time to clean it, then Sophie should not feel bad. Let her help clean it.

Loved how you presented your post. You have such a wonderful sense of humor, a great studio, and a fun space. Thanks for sharing with us.
