Gosh it's been a long time since I "played" in my studio...like almost a year? Yep...it's been about a year.
Wait a cotton pickin' minute...That's not true!
I spend every waking hour in my pj's in there...but I'm always working. I'm always working on a swap or a gift or a project, but never nothing for me or for you!
Since Dad fell sick and passed away last year...I haven't really had the time to "play" just for fun. You know, the type of "play" without a real project or deadline in mind?
Well, let me tell you that after that horrible yard sale last weekend, I played...
and played...
and played...
and OH did it feel SO good!
Good quality therapy!
{you can find these here}
So while I have you here and I have your full attention, I want to thank you for your sweet comments from the last post. I tried to make light (I mean black) of that pitiful 7 mile yard sale.
Didn't you just love those black boxes? I thought it was quite funny myself!
I thought by making a "funny" out of my day, it would relieve my stroke symptoms...{and it did!}
But on the other hand, I hope I didn't give you a stroke or owe you a new computer because you threw it out the window when you thought it wasn't downloading the photos ;)
But instead of being funny, I guess I should have showed you the sweet things that I did come home with...
Sandy (from California) made me this beautiful necklace below, complete with So Cal sand from the beach!!! Love it!!!
And while at the yard sale, Sarah found this awesome bracelet for me. She has such a good eye and beats me to all the good stuff. She found herself some great zebra print luggage for her trip to Kim's event in California this summer. So be on the look out for a mermaid that's headed toward the beach with LOTS of zebra luggage!!!! Get out of her way!!!! ;)
Sandi surprised me with a jar full of these dominoes...
and this wonderful "J" full of bling!!!!
Then UPS delivered a little box for me from sweet Rosalyn~Sue. I cannot wait to meet her in Savannah next month. She has organized so much fun stuff for Jenn's event so far and we've already been having such a wonderful pre-party time!!! Like for example, we had a little secret quiz on the message board and she sent out a book (of our choice) JUST for participating! I chose The Flea Markets of France and I've had my nose stuck in it ever since I unwrapped it!
The illustrations and the photography are just SO beautiful!
Thank you Rosalyn~Sue!
Then Monday came around...which led my beloved mailman to me once again.
(I love him ONLY when he brings me packages)
He brought me TWO packages! Oh if I weren't married, I'd...
JUST KIDDING! ;)
One is from Julie~Ann and the other is from Ester. I haven't opened them yet, but those who know me know that I'm waiting for the moment when I can sit and ENJOY the moment of opening them up without being rushed!
Thank you in advance!!!!! I'm so excited!!!!! I'll be posting about the surprises soon, I promise!!!!!
And to all of you, I hope this post was more eye candy than the last post. I tried to make up for the black box joke although what more eye candy can be better than three of the most beautiful girls out there in blog land?
Well, at least Sandy and Sarah are! tee hee!
Don't you just wish you were at the flea markets in France?
I do. {sigh}

Jodie, those necklaces are absolutely beautiful! Whenever I see beauties like these, made by my fellow bloggers, I swoon with envy! Then that little nudge happens to me - maybe someday I could make something like this? I think they are gorgeous!

I just love the necklaces! How creative! Thanks for all the eye candy. Way better than the black boxes (thought that WAS funny). hehe
The flea market in France can be just like the 7 mile dissapointment! I was there and only came home with ONE thing and the only reason I bought it was to say I had something from the Paris flea market. lol
Hugz, Z
Wow--you know how to play, girl! Love what you created! Please do it more often!
And what lovely gifts you've received! I don't love my mailman nearly as much as you do...you have every reason, apparently!
Hope you find the quiet time you crave to pour over your other gifts today--I totally get it! Savoring the moment is half the fun!
Have a gorgeous day, Jodie!
Jodie,
I adore your creations!!! I've added you as a favorite on Etsy for future reference ;)
Glad you're having fun, just for the sake of having fun. ♥
Love and blessings,
Linda

Tania
Your creations are gorgeous! Jennifer:)
Every girl needs a little play time once in a while! You managed to make some beauties in a short time! Love your presents and of course I cannot wait to see what is in the two parcels that you just received.
It was nice having you over at my blog, thanks for your lovely comments on my small collecting series!
Miss Jodie - they are just beautiful. You have been a busy beaver - creating - inspiring - sigh. Good girl.
Love them all - especially the cameo.
And I thought the black boxes were hilarious.

Oh Jodie you made some beautiful things. I am going to check them out even closer. Love the fun gifts you got. Is that bracelet Cookie Lee? I had one like that and I loved it...can't imagine what happened to it?? OH WELL......
Creating for yourself is so relaxing...good for you! Thank you for all the beautiful photos!

OK-that jewelry is stunning! I am going to have to take a look at it again and then get a drool rag for my computer screen! You definately are an amazing artist!
Blessings,
Kim
you go girl...you are whipping out all sorts of beauty over there:) i so love the cameo piece, she is stunning...what sweet gifts from your friends, that made up for not finding any goodies...i have that book on my wish list at amazon, i have heard really good things about it...now i want it even more!!!
Oh Jodie, you are so sweet.
Love the pretty jewelery you have made and what beautiful gifts from your friends.
Yes, I would like to be visiting a flea market in France, right now.
Happy week
Hugs
Carolyn
The necklaces are just GORGEOUS, Miss Jodie!!! I love all of them! When you play, you are so very creative and productive!
Sandy's gifts for you are very pretty, especially the necklace. Even though they are all-purpose and match everything, I'm glad you didn't come home with just a couple of black squares on Saturday. They just lack the feel ;-).
On Sunday morning it rained over here, so I didn't go to the flea market. The sun came out later but I didn't want to drive 40 minutes to find out if there had been a couple of vendors appeared.
Please don't keep us in suspense to long to see what's in the packages you received!
Until then good night and good luck :-)!
xoxo,
Julia
You made some beautiful pieces! You also received some beautiful pieces! Have you got that mailman bribed Jodie?! I am now off to read about the gazillion mile long garage sale, you have a delightful day!
Hi Jodie!
Yes, I'm back...well, sort of! I'm still busy as ever but decided to open my blog to post pictures every once in a while! With grandkids, a full time job, and a home in the country and wanting to spend time in the Bible, I found I just couldn't keep a blog up! But I will post from time to time! Thank you for re-finding me! Love you pictures, as always! AND....you're going to "Petticoast & Parasols" soon! WHOOT!
Hugs, Heidi
WOW results of your play day are beautiful. In your spare time you should make more, more, more! What spare time? Happy you are creating for just for your enjoyment and then letting us enjoy your efforts. Hope all is well, think of you often.
Kelley
Wow! I think you should make time to play more often! What beautiful creations!!!
Romeo and "her"
:-) I had to look on the previous post and see what it's all about. I remember you saying and looking forward to this huge yard sale. And I was looking forward to seeing what you came home with. Oh dear! With nothing that caught your eye, that must be one lonnnnnngggggggg yard sale. Good thing you have friends with you.
But I guess what you just received now makes up for all of it, I think :-)Yup, sure of it . Love the Destiny and keyhole necklace. I wonder, with one having the keyhole - who holds the key - a special loveone! ? :-)
Mizpah,
Li
I just found your blog, and I love it! I love vintage things myself and often play in my P.J s
Hey Sweet Girl...
Your jewelry is awesome, it looks like you played good with all the amazing things you came up with. & don't you just LOVE staying in your jammies & creating. Sometimes I think I have clothing issues, why is it I prefer to be in my jammies then any other piece of clothing I own. I'm always on the search for something that feels like wearing jammies, but looks like clothing. OK, I do have issues! I just wasted your time reading this silly comment that started out about you & ended up about me...I'm a weirdo, sorry!
Big Smiles,
Susie
Dear sweet Jodie, you have made so many beautiful pieces and have received equally wonderful gifts from fabulous friends. I love to see what you've created and am glad to know that you've had fun playing and are able to share with us. Read my post today! Joy in a Box! Many blessings, Tammy
I think I need to hunt down that book on French flea markets, too, since Carol W will be holding her French Market boutique book class here in June. If only I could also find the book that tells you how to print money! :)
Jodie... I was happy to see you're going to Paper Cowgirl in Texas this year. My sister, from Mississippi, and I are already signed up too! Can't wait for my first visit to Paper Cowgirl!
blessings. Dixie
Pretty, pretty play! I love it. and yep after my Mom passed away...in the Studio was pretty much the only place I wanted to be. Love your goodies. And I'm especially tickled you are coming to Paper Cowgirl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait...can't wait to meet cha! Gurl, we are gonna kick off our shoes and sit on the floor and chin wag! :D
