Why I Love Blogging...

Welcome to

Joy's Blogging Party!

Come on in...I've been waiting for you!

                     Button-Big400

Introduction please...everyone quiet down...(ping ping on the champagne glass). Thank you everyone, I'm so glad you could make it today to the most beautiful BLOG PARTY in the land, hosted by our most charming friend Joy.

To my dearest friends, thank you for sharing this special day with me and for those darlings whom I've never met, it's so nice to meet you! Let me introduce myself please...

My name is Jodie and I love blogging!

Hmmm. Where do I start? Well, how about I start from the beginning. August 2007.  I hardly knew what a blog was.

spring1

I was flipping through my favorite magazines published by Stampington & Company (they host a variety of Somerset Publications). I was intrigued with the beautiful artwork and I noticed that most of the published artists had their own blog. An address of sorts...

DSC_0078 (2)

So I ventured, deep in the realm of blog land...and I got lost. Lost in the midst of the most beautiful and interesting places known to man (or woman). A land where beautiful photography reigned and authors and poets were plenty! I was in heaven! This was my new home. I needed real estate here and I needed it fast.  TypePad, Blogger, WordPress...which address would be cozy enough for me to spend the rest of my life in? I knew what I had to do to find out...

DSC_0062 (2)

I took the plunge after 9 months of lurking and stalking beautiful blogs and I finally left a comment on my favorite blog, Pink Roses & other passions. Lucky me, Suzanne's door was open and she welcomed me to the neighborhood with open arms. She helped me set up house and gave me the tips of the trade. Since then, I've never looked back.

I've met so many wonderful people in blog land. Some are just around the block, some just across the highway. No one is out of a finger's reach. But the best part about my new neighborhood is that everyone is as close as a post and we stay in touch often through heart felt comments.

DSC_0074 (2)

I love the idea that I can wake in the morning, knock on my favorite door and see what's new. See how the kids are doing, how the flowers are blooming, what's cooking, or rave with delight about my neighbor's newest creation. There is so much beauty out there! I love to leave a comment and let them know that I was thinking of them today. Sometimes that's all a person really needs to hear.

DSC_0031 (2)

Oh, and I love to check my mail! I must not forget to mention that! In some cases, I have met friends that have not made it to this neighborhood yet. They do not have a permanent address in blog land so they keep in touch via email...how sweet of them.

DSC_0104 (2)

I love when my neighbors to come visit me. It's always a delight to have them sit with me and chat. I enjoy telling them of my heritage, my travels, my day to day routine...my life! It's such a treat to be in such company as a warm visitor! Don't you agree?

DSC_0009 (2)

I love that we meet at party's such as these...Cheers (raise champagne glass). It's always a great time to celebrate here in blog land. Everyone is so positive and kind in my neighborhood, always serving up tips under the sun and tutorials in a wicker basket so we can all go outside and play together.

I love blogging. I love that it has opened up a whole new world for me. I love that I have met so many people I can call "friends". I love the fact that I can get lost and escape to a beautiful place, even if it is just for a moment. I love that I can share my life with people who appreciate what I have to give, whether it be art, words, photography or... just myself.

I love that you came and read all the way through. I love the time we shared together. I love seeing you. I love meeting those of you for the first time today. But most of all, I love wishing that you'll be back for another visit soon. I'll be here!

Thank you Joy for being such a wonderful hostess. (hug hug) I had such a wonderful time. If you excuse me now for a moment, I am off to mingle with the rest of the crowd.

Cheers to all of you. Blog on...

Please enter Joy's beautiful blog and join the party! You'll be able to find all of the lovely attendees who love blogging as much as I do! Go ahead now...have a great time!

You have a beautiful, inspirational blog! I am so jealous. I am a collector of vintage items, but don't have a blog pertaining to that---yet! I joined the blog party for the sole purpose of finding new inspiration, friends and followers. My blog pertains mostly to the paper arts--scrapbooking mostly. It's a work in progress that's for sure! Hope you stop by.
