Imagine...

The wind is blowing as there is a thunderstorm rolling in from the east. The trees are dancing and the leaves are floating across the grass. The birds are chirping and flying around to find shelter. Sounds of thunder mumble in the distance and the smell of rain is calming...

It was not a typical Southern humid day as I sat on my swing and watched Mother Nature in all of her glory.

Thank you for the sweetest comments about my jungle.

I took your advice. Yesterday afternoon, I relaxed outside and enjoyed the fruits of my labor. I basked in the glory of a job well done. I was thankful that I was sore and sunburned. Yes, I was thankful. For there are many who are not able to move and work nor get the chance to feel the sun on their skin. But let me tell you, I still hate bugs! Since Robin taught me that a wasp is not a bug...I have to add that I hate wasps too! ;)

So I had a delightful afternoon outside with these...

The current issues of Somerset's Sew, Belle Armoire Jewelry, Gallery and the premier issue of Art Quilting Studio. I have to say though, I read every word of Art Quilting Studio and the photos are wonderful!!!! Would you expect anything less from Somerset?

Some of my favorite blog friends are in this issue! And of course, it was a delight to see new artists I've never heard of too!!!

I haven't read Sew and Gallery yet, I'm saving those for Sunday and Monday.

I hope your Memorial Day Weekend is as relaxing as mine...

If you need me, I'll be watching the thunderstorms roll in and out...

I'll still be outside on the swing~

Good for you! Sorry about the thunderstorms though. Fortunately here in the Pacific Northwest, we are having beautiful weather this weekend. It comes few and far between in the spring around here. Thank goodness that Summer in on it's way. Have a great holiday weekend regardless of the weather!

Hi Jodie,
What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. Sorry about the rain, but sometimes the rainstorms are great. When you get your magazines going you really get them going. Love all those mags. I especially love Somerset Sew! Happy Reading and have a great weekend.

I love curling up in the rocker on the front porch and watching the rain fall. It's so soothing. I have a few magazines that I have been waiting patiently to read and I plan on doing so this weekend too:)

Have a relaxing and joyous weekend!

Hi Jodie,
I can't think of a better way to spend the weekend. I'm glad you are taking the time for yourself. I love all the Somerset publications. They are like works of art in themselves. Worth the money, if you are the creative sort. I can't even pick a favorite among them.
Enjoy yourself in that swing. Try not to burn your burn.
Hugs,
June

Jodie,

Thanks for the great comment about Meagan's tea party yesterday:) I would be thrilled to plan a birthday tea party for you when you turn 41! It would be so much fun!!! If we can't do it in person then we will do it in blogland-you send the date and I will take care of the planning:)

As for Kramer, poor thing spent tea party time in the bedroom:)

Blessings,

Kim

Ahhh I need to buy stock in those magazines because frankly, they are sooo expensive I cannot afford to buy all of them I want. I often cheat and thumb through issues at Borders. They are so great. Well I am glad the storms came after you got all your work done. At least everything will be green and watered, but like you I do not enjoy the humidity.

Oh Jodie, what a perfect day sitting reading your favourite magazines.
Loved the description of the thunderstorm rolling through.

You deserved to put your feet up and relax, after all the hard work you had done.
Hope the rest of the weekend is lovely.

Hugs
Carolyn
