You know, our older generations used to say that what you do on the first day of the year will mimic how the rest of your new year will be. So for example, if you cleaned the house all day, chances are you will keeping the house clean throughout the year. Or, If you sat and watched TV all day, then I guess you'll be a couch potato for the next 364 days and so on.
Well friends, I can tell you that this old tale is true. Last year I spent the Christmas and New Year holidays in my studio creating my heart out. As for January 1st, I stayed in my pj's and never left my craft room. (It was a dream I tell ya!) So needless to say, during last year, I was VERY creative!!!!! I decorated for 2 baby showers, 2 wedding showers, 2 weddings and I attended Silver Bella!
I'm not too sure how this year will turn out because this is how I spent most of my day yesterday...
in bed, with a horrible cough and runny nose. Oreo never left me and kept me safe. (That's her, the black spot in the upper right hand corner) The only good thing about this day was I was able to catch up on my "prescriptions" of Somerset Sew, Artist Cafe, Gallery, Haute Handbags, Memories and Studio...and re-read Artful Blogging! I call these my prescriptions instead of subscriptions because no matter what kind of day I'm having, they always make it better!
However, I did manage to eat some turkey, rice dressing, and smothered cabbage...but no black-eyed peas for me.
Paul & Sonya: thank you for cooking for us! It was delicious!
I'm hoping everyone who is reading this had a wonderful & safe New Year's Eve and Day.
