It's been a LONG time coming...

The title of the post says a lot  ~  to say the least.

It says a lot of what has happened in the past,

what's going on at the moment,

&  what I hope the new year will be for me.

Let me start by saying that it's been a while since I've ran my fingers through velvet millinery and vintage lace...

Although it is all at my fingertips, I have been short on time.

DSC_0300 (2)

My love for creams & browns still remains, along with mixtures of metals and lace and everything in between...

Although it is all at my fingertips, I have been short on time.

DSC_0282 (2)

I am longing to play with the little trinkets and goodies that beg my attention to create something beautiful...

Although it is all at my fingertips, I have been short on time.

DSC_0288 (3)

I beg for the time to sit and visit with you, my heart is lonesome for the inspiration you always provide to me...

Although it is all at my fingertips, I have been short on time.

DSC_0301 (2)

I admire those of you of whom time has been generous...

for that I am jealous.

As a creative (& nosey) soul, I have been short on time  ;)

DSC_0293 (2)

It's been a LONG time coming since I've been creative "for no reason at all" but in the meantime, good things have happened too!

I have slowed down a little and learned to appreciate the things that really matter in my life such as:

no expectations

no promises

no regrets

no rush

and most importantly, lots of happiness.

Friends do come and go,

but the special memories still remain.

DSC_0290 (2)

After all, it's creativity that led me to blogging,

blogging led me to great friends,

great friends led me to the unforgettable memories,

so therefore...I'm always looking forward to what's coming my way next!

It can only get better, right?

DSC_0292 (2)

I guess the point that I'm trying to make here is...

It's been a LONG time coming that I've told you that I miss all of you on my side bar, all of you in blogland, all of you that I've met on the road and all of you that I've met at creative events.

And, it's been a LONG time coming that I've told you "Thank You" for making {everything vintage} what it is today!!!

I am hopeful that 2012 will bless me with time to stop in and visit with you and catch up, just like old friends do.

The above photos are from a "pocket swap" hosted by Jessica in 2010.

My swap partner was Leslie and everything you see above are the beautiful things she sent to me.

It's been a LONG time coming that I post this...

  3. welcome back, again. I hope time won't be running away from you in 2012.

as for me, still where I'm at, although my blog has a new focus now. It's still in its baby stages, but I'm hoping and praying that I'm taking the steps God needs me to.

(Plus and also, awesome pocket swap pics!)

  10. Time is such a precious commodity and never enough of it to go around. As talented as you are my adorable crazy Cajun...can't you figure out a way to create more time? If you do...I'll buy all you have.
You have an artist's soul and while you might be able to keep it at bay for a while...I know it won't be forever.
I'm trying to carve out more time myself. Seems like it just slips through my fingers or is that what happens when one starts getting old?
Miss you darlin' and I'm still planning a trip down your way. I'd love to come for y'alls Mardis Gras, but it may be after the spring show (gah...that's just around the corner!). Hey...that'll be when it's warmer and we can put the top down!
Love you and miss you like crazy!

  16. Jodie,
I am feeling that time scrunch too. When we found out about Pat's cancer, time felt very precious. He and I now are holding on to each and every second and filling them with all the joy and happiness and freedom we can find.

So with this said, I hope you find the same and with this peace.

  17. I think of you often Jodie when I am blogging. I hope that you are doing well and have found your joy again. I know how a hurt like yours takes TIME to really scab over...it never really heals completely....but I am so glad to see you blogging and thinking of projects. I look forward to hearing more from you in 2012....one day at a TIME!!

  19. Jodie,
I always enjoy your posts, and am so glad when you appear on my google reader. (I always read, but don't always comment. It's a combination of my girls not napping as much as they used to and my being a lazy lady ;).
I was seriously thinking about the pocket swap the other day, and how I wish I had seen what the lovely Leslie sent you. It's all so pretty, and I must say, so you!
Can't wait to see more of your posts in my google reader! :)

  25. Hey Jodie! guess what. You are mentioned in my post today so I came over to see if you had posted again and here you are! Yea! I used some of the yarn you sent me to make a bowl so that's in my post. The Red Heart yarn is great because it's thick and crochets up a bit stiff. I do hope that time will be on your side in 2012. I've gotten to the point where I just make the time. To heck with everything else. :) Best wishes and blessings, Tammy

  27. Good to hear you are taking a bit of time to create. I miss all your pretty things. I miss you too and all the laughs. Time is definitely something that needs to be weighed in everything we do. We have only so much and to waste a drop would be a sin. It is a definite balancing act. Each of us needs to decide what portion we will allot for each task. I think you are doing the right thing by letting go and allowing what is right for you to be your guide. Love you sweet Jodie. Hugs, Pam

  56. Boy, I don't know if you'll ever see this. I'm the 60th comment on this post done in 2012. It's now August of 2013. I haven't blogged for a whole year. I moved, got a new computer, can't download, didn't have my studio anymore, there you have it. HOWEVER,

I am looking back on all of my blogs and reading all of my comments. I miss all of our visits. You were so sweet and loving to me and I still am touched by your words. I'm working right now on trying to download this new camera onto this new computer.
