Why do I wait so long???...

THE Question is:

WHY do I wait so long to open my packages???

I've been holding on to these boxes and envelopes, some for more than a week now.

As they lay on my dining room table, I pass by them about 10 times a day... and smile :)

I have my reasons for waiting, but please understand...

It's not because I'm not excited to receive them.

It's not because I'm unappreciative.

It's not because I have willpower. (I have none)

I wait because...

I love the excitement

I love the unknowing of what's inside

I love that someone has thought of ME

but most of all, I wait because...

I WANT TO SAVOR...

each moment of the opening

each moment of the unwrapping

each handwritten letter in every word of the card

and I savor the love that's put into each detail that's made especially for ME!

:)

It's not a holiday. It's not my birthday.

But Every Day is a special day when I am loved by friends near and far.

And let me tell you ALL something else my friends...

Each and every one of you that visited my last post, you have made my day just as special as I have read each and every one of the sweet, thoughtful and kind comments that were left for me.

As excited as I was opening these packages yesterday, I was just as excited and touched by the words you left me since last Wednesday. Thank You.

Every Day is a special day when I have you!!!!

:)

I hope you'll join me each day this week as I share one of my gifts with you...starting tomorrow.

Whether it's a gift, a card, kind words or even a smile...I hope you have touched someone in a positive way today.

Have a wonderful week...I know I will!!!!

:)))

Hi Jodie!
When I see that you have posted something new I nearly trip and fall over to get here! Love what you have to say because you say it so well. You always make my day.

I could not hold onto packages and gifts, I rip into them the minute they are in my hot little hands! LOL. Patience is not one of my strongsuits.

You are such a doll, don't ever change.

hugs
Sissie

Enjoy every second of anticipation, Jodie--it really IS fun, isn't it?! Especially when you're pretty sure that the treasures awaiting you inside those plain-looking packages are truly worth all of your waiting and excitement....can't wait to see what you'll share!

Have a marvellous day, my friend...

I applaud your fortitude, Jodie...I know I couldn't last 5 minutes before I would have to open them. But, you are so right...things are sweeter the longer we anticipate them. And you are such a wonderful person, so giving and appreciative of all your blessings - so of course you want to wait. I can't wait until I see your treasures.

Good to see you back Jodie! I don't see how you can wait to open packages...I can barely remember to get pictures. LOL

Sorry to hear about Oreo. My beloved Giz had to have sub-Q treatments at least twice a week for the last 3 years of his life. We do what we gotta do to keep them w/ us, huh?

You are just like my husband. He always wants to wait to open things and when he gets a card in the mail, sometimes he waits all day before opening it. He wants to savor every moment and the anticipation! i am the opposite--i can hardly wait to open something!!

I LOVE all the things you learned. Honey, I have been learning WAY MORE than I want to know lately. I've been learning the difference between a mechanical heart valve & a biological (that's a nice way to say PIG's) valve. And how long they keep people in ICU under sedation... see, the stuff you have been learning is better than that. RIGHT? But, you are right about staying positive & thankful for what we have. Keeping positive company & the love of friends. Hope all is well in your world. Talked to our sweet Sandy today. She makes me laugh. HUGS to you sweet friend. Charlene
