It seems like I just got back from a trip not too long ago. And another one before that. And...
Okay. Enough. I WILL BE ON THE ROAD AGAIN...
Tomorrow!!! TODAY :)
Sarah and I are leaving in a few hours to pick up our favorite two Northern girls, Pam of Frippery (Ohio) and Sandy of Sew Revived (Pennsylvania) !!!
(this photo was taken in 2008 in Omaha Nebraska, the first year we met. We've gotten together every year since and we've made a pact to do so at least once a year!)
Pam and Sandy are flying into New Orleans and we will spend three days in the Big Easy!!!!
I'm looking forward to some Pat O'Brien's!!!! wooo hooo!
I booked us a fabulous room with a Bourbon Street balcony at the Lafitte Guest House! It's supposed be haunted! Do you think the old pirate Jean Lafitte left some buried treasure there???? I'll be sure and let you know how that goes!!!! haha!!!!
Then, we'll head back home for a few days to play in my "new" studio! Yes. I re-did the whole room! Paint and all. That's kind of why I've been MIA over the last week or so.
One of my best traits is how I love to put myself under tons of stress, pressure and deadlines. I love to lose more of my hair in the process and kill myself to complete the task in a timely manner. seriously ~ i am just kidding.
Well, I did it once again and succeeded! ;)

My most favorite thing about my room is...I can actually walk in it without tripping over stuff now! And...I think Sophie's happy too. Note that she was MIA through the whole re-do process. She's so lazy! ;)
The final results of my "new" room will be in a future post. After I get off the highway for a while ;)
Back to the girls...After a few days of playing and possibly seeing some sights around Cajun Country, we'll slowly start meandering (road tripping) our way to North Texas where we'll attend an art event hosted by the fabulous Chantal of Wishblooms! Her and her adorable Mother Maryse will each be teaching a class and I just can't imagine how she will outdo last year's event of her first Tidbits & Tassels event. It took me three posts last year to show all the fun we had. (August 2009)
Matter of fact...let me just refresh your memory on how AWESOME her studio is.

So this is where I'll be NEXT weekend. Running my grubby little fingers through all of Chantal's pretty stuff again :)
For the next 10 days,
I'll be on the road again.
If and when I have internet, I'll check in as often as I can.
Until then, remember my number one rule:
Don't have any fun without me!
I'm signing off for now. I have to go pack. Yes. It IS one o'clock in the morning. I am leaving in about 5 hours. Yes. I am excited. I feel like a little kid leaving for Disney World. I get like this for every trip I take. I guess it IS just the kid in me ;)

When I saw that first photo, I thought what in the world? It's 100+ degrees and you are showing people in heavy coats and scarves. Then I noticed it was in Omaha. I did an internship there, and no amount of preparation prepared me for that windy cold! Have a safe and fun trip.
OMG girl.....do you ever stay home?! I am so jealous right about now......I need a vacation!!!! Still one more pup to sell and I'm hittin' the road to Oregon to see my parents...oh and there is that week in late September that I will be pretending to be like you and actually attend some art retreats!

The only trips I took this summer were on the front stairs as I carried boxes inside during the move:). You should grab a cocktail at the Carousel Bar at the Hotel Monteleone while in NOLA. The bar actually spins like a slow moving Carousel and they have several locally created cocktails like the Ramos Fizz.
