Last weekend, The Man and I rose early to hit the only three yard sales in our small little town. The first two were very disappointing however...the third one was a charm!
Literally!!!!
I hit the mother load of rhinestones!!! It's not that I wear them of course, but I'm always on the lookout for them as they are perfect to use in mixed media art.
And...since I have MANY friends who love to create mixed media art AND have birthdays this month, have had birthdays last month and will have birthdays next month, (whew I got a lot of friends!) I thought of them too as I was yard sale shopping!!!
okay...
Before you think I'm all sweet and nice, the watch piece above is for ME! I do tend to be a greedy hoarder when it comes to my favorite pieces! ;)
I managed to put this gift in the mail today. It's headed for California.
I'm late on my May birthdays, my June birthdays, and my July birthdays and even on my last November birthdays!!! But I think I'm forgiven because those who really love me know that I'm ALWAYS late ;)
So I'm going to share some of my new rhinestone finds with a FaBuLouS friend of mine whom I know will put these shiny treats to good use.
Even when she's known to bedeck herself with them on occasion, I can also imagine what beautiful pieces of art she will embellish with these too!!!!
Heck, this is HER (late) Birthday Present from me so I guess she can do whatever she wishes with her new jewels!!!!
'Nuff said before I show & tell everything! We gotta leave some sort of surprise, don't we???
:)

Jodie, after forty I just do not pay attention to birthdays unless it's the hubs or my childs I just so not keep up. So you are an awesome friend to all these folks.

Jodie, love these photos! Is that pink velvet I see? Love all the blingy treasures. ~ Angela
Jodie, all the sparkles are so pretty and vintage feeling. I love it. Beautiful pics.
Ahhhh, dear sweet wonderful Jodie!
How I missed you. Actually, I wish you had been in Portland with me. Girl, the trouble we would've gotten into inside Monticello Antiques, *swoon*!
Your bling is gawwwjhus, and what a generous friend you are. Shoot, I already knew that. :-)
Love ya loads,
Me
Awesome score! A girl has right to be a little greedy when it comes to her bling :)
Okay, maybe your finds are better than my bowling pin and Jed's strange pupppet....
I swear, girl, your photos just continue to get more unbelievable each time I come over for a visit....Such talent you possess...

Teh only yard sales we have around here are full of kids clothes--I need to move to another town!! You are always finding something fabulous!!
Girlie...don't you know rhinestones are first cousins to glitter. You don't want any of that ol' nasty stuff now do you? I'll be a good friend and take it off your hands...especially the watch. That is wonderful!
Debbie
P.S. I just catch up on everyone's b'days at Christmas!
Hi Jodie,
oh, you're lucky girl - love all your finds. The photos are gorgeous.
Thanks for sharing.
Have a wonderful day.
Hugs,
Marie
Wow girl, that's a lot of pretty bling you found! It looks like you had been to a lot more yard sales. So you saved quite some time that you could spent otherwise :-). Do I see PINK velvet underneath the pieces in the first picture? How did that make it into your studio? It must have sneaked in by itself ;-).
Good night, Jodie!
Big hugs to you,
Julia
Jodie - what a fabulous find. Love the pieces. I love to use jewelry and bling pieces too, only iot´s so hard to find over here.
Looks like some girls are going to be some very lucky gals receiving pretty stuff from you. SO generous of you to make all those birthday presents.
Wishing you a wonderful and creative day dear friend.
xoxo Tina
Hi Jodie! I especially love that rhinestone pocket watch piece. Very cool. I love shiny and blingy too and I'm the worst on being late. But I came by it naturally from my Dad, who Mama said would be late for his own funeral. Love you jackpot.
Hugs...Tracy :)
Oh, oh, oh, those jewels!!
Wow! They are so pretty!
*Kicking some stuff around* WHY ISN'T IT MY BIRTHDAY???

That watch piece is stunning!

OMG, Girl! I'm reading this post with pure ENVY cuz I know you got the "touch" & then I keep reading and now I have totally LOST MY MY MIND! So much so that I can't even write this w/o 47,000 typos! LOL
Tying to regain composure here (w/o much success). So, when did you put this FabUlouness in the mail? Will I get it tomorrow? Where did you send it; work or home? AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
I just love me some Jodie!
:)
Now this is a post that is right up my alley! Honey you got lucky when you hit that gold mine! :)
Lucky you. Cant wait to see how you use them in your arts and crafts!!
Oh Jodie, you find the best and most beautiful things! I wish I could get Marc to go with me... he just has no interest in it:( But anyway, you really found some good loot.
Thank you for leaving that MOST PRECIOUS comment about my Justin and his homecoming! You are just such a sweetheart and it is sad to me that we live so far away.
Love you my friend! Big hugs and sweet smiles coming your way!
Oh la la....Love the rhinestones!! I cant believe that a girl that DOESNT like glitter could like rhinestones. THat clock is to die for. All I ever find at garage sales are old clothes and junky furniture.
Love Ya
Robin
WOW! Look at all that Bling. You are going to make someone a very happy Girl.. I am happy just looking at it! Hope you have a wonderful day! Hugs, Linda
I'm sure whenever anyone gets a B-day gift from you, it's right on time and adored so much!!!
Oh I loved your treasures from Julia. She is an artist, that girl is!!! I love ANYthing she creates with her lovely little hands.
And I know...now one appreciates it more than you.
hugs
Hi Jodi! I said I wasn't a horder on my blog but, have to confess when it comes to bling that's well... I am admitting. Love your purchases! Parting with them that's another story. Love the pen pal. Great stuff! xx LizlovesVintage
You lucky dog! What a great haul!

Beautiful Jodie! You get this stuff at yard sales? I must look further! Everytime I try to find these jewels at antique shops they are so pricey, so I never get any. What a treasure!
WOW!!!! I am lovin' all the pretty bling you have found while out sailing. Such fun to find someone's junk and turn it into beautiful treasures. Enjoy!!!!
xoxo
