Pretty Pockets Sneak Peeks...

I'm playing along in a wonderful swap hosted by the lovely Jessica of Kids Napping? I'm Scrapping! ...

pocket swap

I've always wanted to join one of her swaps but the time was never right for me. But lucky me...I'm IN now!!! :)))

Jessica always hosts the most funnest (is that a word?) swaps.

Her tags (& everything else she makes) are just gorgeous!!

I'm so honored to be in this one, but I must say ... I made the deadline to sign up for this one by the skin of my teeth as I was emailing her from the airport on my way to Savannah! whew!!!

I was paired with the wonderful Leslie of Junk Girl Studio.

I love Leslie's blog ... she's so creative.

Here are a few sneak peeks without spoiling her surprise...

DSC_0296 (2)

We were to make a fabric wall hanging (no smaller than 8.5 x 11) with no less than three pockets.

Hint #1: Leslie's will be huge! :)

DSC_0281 (2)

Pink is a favorite color of Leslie, plus she likes aqua, blue and green too.

DSC_0243 (2)

For those of you who know me, you know that pink and aqua are really not in my vocabulary.

So therefore, I kind of shabbied (is that a word too?) everything up by adding some well worn pieces and some aging to make it all have a vintage feel.

Then, we were to load the pockets with LOTS of goodies!

Hint #2: Leslie's will be stuffed! :)

DSC_0300 (2)

Don't get me wrong, working with the pink and aqua was a blast because it was challenging for me (and I LOVE challenges).

Being a long-time reader of Leslie's blog, I really think I got a feel of what she likes.

She likes vintage.

So therefore, I have used vintage pink flowers, vintage velvet, vintage laces, and vintage pieces ... all strategically combined with pink and aqua ;)

Hint #3: Leslie's will be GORGEOUS!

I better stop now before I give it all away.

I'm finished and I'm ready to mail it. I'll be sad to see it leave.

Do you ever want to keep everything you make?

I DO ... it's so hard to give it to the mailman, it's like my fingers are glued to the box ... literally! But, since he's always bringing me some beautiful goodies, I really need to get over that! haha

I can't show you the final masterpiece until Leslie receives it. Our deadline is the 31st of this month so you really don't have to stay on the edge of your seat until then...okay? ;)

I promise to show you more at a later date.

*****

I hope your weekend was wonderful...mine surely was!

Oh...and speaking of wonderful, I wouldn't want you to miss what Sarah of The Gypsy Mermaid has put in her Etsy shop.

She's made some awesome goodies recently so if you have the time...please go take a peek :)

I was over @ Leslie's blog the other day reading about this...I have an idea :D why not make 2 identical bags and send one to MOI so I can see exactly what Leslie's in store for :D that's not a bad idea...what do you think Jodie?

i wish you were wending it all to me, what fun! What is the fabric or ribbon in the aqua and pink color? It does not look like ribbon, more like gauze?

Hi Jodie! Do you want to know how bad I wish I were Leslie right now? REAL BAD!!!!!!!!!!
I don't think I can wait until the 31st. I really don't. It all looks so beautiful! Pink and green and aqua...you are talkin' my language here. That little piece of hardware let me know that this will be a gorgeous work of art. Then you mentioned velvet, and I saw lace and bling. Oh my! I just can't wait till the 31st.
I read the post of your time together with your family. It looks like a wonderful time and I was so happy to see the pictures of you with your sisters and aunt.
Oh and I did hang out in that beautiful bedroom for awhile and caught me some zzzs.
hugs to you!

Somebody has some goodies coming their way! I have been reading your posts, even if I was too lackadaisical to comment! I turned pea green with envy over your Savannah posts. I would love to see the city one day, it looks so beautiful in pictures. The Petticoats and Parasols events all looked so magical. What love and care went into everything.
I love that you call your Aunts Aunties! I call the Aunts on my Mom's side of the family Auntie too, and am called Auntie by my nieces and nephews. It's much better than being called Aunt!
Have a great week Jodie and it was great hearing from you again! I missed you too!
