Everywhere I look...

I love everything about my studio.  {{a.k.a. my creative space}}

DSC_0083 (2)

Sometimes, I go in there with no intentions of creating at all, but visions of creative possibilities feed my urge to do so.

DSC_0078 (2)

Sometimes, I just look around and reflect on all of the beautiful people I have met. I feel so fortunate.

DSC_0079 (2)

Each and every one of you that comes to visit has inspired me in some way.

DSC_0082 (2)

You have helped me create a space and a room full of inspiration at my fingertips...

I

Will

Always

Be

So

Ever

Grateful

to

YOU!

Now, will you PLEASE come help me clean it up?

You wasn't expecting this, were you? It's a good thing you can't blow up my photos. You'd be in a tizzy too as I am right about now.

I don't know about you, but I CANNOT CREATE in a mess like this. Usually, my little room is organized, clean, and PERFECT but lately? Oh no...not with all this celebrating the Saints, and Mardi Gras, Birthdays and Valentine Swaps, cruises and art retreats, etc.

{{But it's soooo much fun}}

So! Whoever wants to come and help me clean up, I'd sincerely appreciate it!!!  Just come on over!!! ;)

Isn't it amazing how the close-up photos above DO NOT show the mess behind the scenes???

Sometimes, just sometimes...we all have to hide the truth! No lie!

;)

Oreo wants to know...who's coming? There is a little spot of visible carpet for you to sit and play with her while you take a break from the mess...

DSC_0047 (2)

Please tell me that my studio is not the only creative space that looks like this???

You can lie if you "have" to!    ;)

And on a lighter note, if you haven't entered my giveaway yet...now is the time to do so. There's only five days left and time is ticking!!!! You can enter it here. Good luck!

LOL! You're so silly :) Oreo is such a QT pie!! She'll watch as you clean, but I think that's all you'll get out of her! :) And yes, my room looks verrrry similar...!

Oh my I can't tell you how much this post made me smile! I am in the same boat but I just LOVE how you started the post with a few close-ups! If I could I definitely would pop over and help but you'd have to return the favor, he he!

Thanks brightening my day!

So glad you shared your room, Jodie--mine is HIDEOUS right now! In fact, I'm just getting the stuff I need (if I can even find it!), and working downstairs on my kitchen table...that's how bad it is--and I'm NOT showing pictures! Guess I've got some work to do, too!

Love your beautiful creations...and your wonderful sense of humor!

Oh Jodie, Thank you so much!!! You just made my day by showing that your studio does not look any better than mine! For days I walk into my room, switch the heater on and undertake to clean up. I look around, don't know really where to start and leave to come back later. This would be in the evening then, just to turn the heater off, lol. Well, this morning I managed to put a couple of things back to where they belong. Not that I would see any difference in the chaos yet. Maybe we should exchange our studios to clean up one another's places. It will be fun to play with Oreo ... :-).

Julia

I always feel so grungy when my art room gets like this but then I spend an entire day cleaning and organizing and then do NOTHING for like forever cause I guess I hate messing it up again. I tell you I am one ANAL CHICK.

Jodie, you need to visit my blog. One day last week I posted pics of my trashed studio! You will feel better! I've got to go clean up the disaster area today...then I can look forward to messing it up again! :)

Mmmm I do see some empty floor there! My studio cannot be cleaned up without stretching at the moment and I hate physical exercise! I can create on 1 square of about 7" by 7" (I tried just too many times), but what I hate is that I cannot find anything, so that bothers me. I think I am going to clean up too...in a moment of course, hehehe! Have a lovely day and have fun cleaning and tidying up in your studio!

My room's been that messy. My desk currently is that messy, but that's because in the middle of a project. My pups have a little rug to lie on while I'm at work in there ... not that they are always on it. I have a growing pile of things to put away, or that have lost a place to go... I'm kinda hoping I can get another shelving unit to put them in to replace the little unit I bought off ebay and...

Oh wait, you don't wanna hear about my troubles ...

I have a question for you though -- the first picture with the flowers tied to some wire contraption-- can we get a bigger view?

Cheers,
Leanne

I'm on my way . . . I'll call you from the airport. OMG we'd have such fun! And we could go shopping, and I could try a crawfish (well maybe not) and you could show me the whole mardi gras thing and
I COULD LOOK AT YOUR FAT BOOK since you cheated and mine isn't here yet!
:) LOVE IT ALL - even like this.

This made me feel much better Jodie. Right now I can't even walk into my studio because the rest of the family uses it as a storage closet for junk they don't want to deal with! This must end! You have inspired me. I posted your darling treats that you sent today. Thank thank thank you!!!! The little box and the dangle are just lovely. Hugs, Pam

What a great Studio space you have! And no, you are not the only one with a creative mess on your hands :-)But that's the fun of having our own little space.
Love your Studio assistant Oreo ♥ my lab Ernie is always next to me too.

OH my, we should all have to share a messy space occasionally:) I could do some serious creating in there! No cleaning, just crafting... Hugs to you and enjoy working in your creative space. Hey, I knocked at the door to help you but there was no answer, hehe.

looks like you've been on a creative rampage...a whirlwind of imaginative explorations! it's actually more inspiring than scarey, but that might be because I'm not the one who will at some point get a handle on it! lol

it's soooo fun to see all of your creative supplies...thanks for sharing

no way sweetie, I think your space looks absoukltey fabulous. Thats how great studios look. If it were all nice and neat then it would mean you have no time to create beautiful treasures!! lov the doggie!

I can't create in a mess either - I have to clean up my studio every night. Well - STRAIGHTEN up - I only clean (as in move the furniture and clean the floors ever-so-often LOL).

Tell you what. How about if I just come and keep you company and play with OReo and keep him out of your way? I can play with little fur kids for HOURS...I like 'em better than the skin kind. :P

I would hate for somebody else to help me straight up - I'd never find anything ever again LOL.

What time can I come over? I think we'll need a pizza break so I'll bring some over? Although I have to tell you, I'm using this just an excuse to visit. ;)

That little Oreo is such a cutie! I think you're brave showing the true state of your studio. The only reason mine is neat is because I'm not working on anything at the moment!

I'll come help! Kramer will come too and play with Oreo:). I don't have a creative studio-my creative space is the living room floor which right now is covered in tiny winy little paper scraps after several days of Valentine creations. I figured there was no reason to vacuum until I was finished creating so the house is a mess (since I'm creating I'm obviously not cleaning the rest of the house either-lol). So needless to say-I can relate to the messy creative space! Oh, and sign me up for your giveaway too please:).

Kramer wants to know when he should book his flight. I must give you fair warning-he makes more of a mess than he cleans-haha!

Blessings,

Kim

I don't know Jodie - I think a clean studio is a little scary and not very inspiring, while a "well-loved and obviously used" studio demonstrates a highly creative mind!!! We are in the middle of a blizzard here, so I am spending lots of time playing in my sewing room /studio - a great way to spend a blustery day!

Hugs,

Sue E.

Jodie I'll be there right after I clean up my own space. Will that be soon enough? And I will wear my apron with really big pockets. There's some velvet ribbon just waiting to come home with me.
Thank you sweetie for the sweet words you left for me.

Hi Jodie,

I think all our work spaces can get like this ~ shows you are actually doing something I always think.
Let me tell you mohair does not mix with food!
Oreo is such a sweetie and would so love to be sitting on your carpet and playing with him, while I help you clean. Good luck with it.
I find it is best to do a little corner at a time.

Mess? What mess?! It looks like you have a fabulous time in that space. I'll be Oreo loves it too. Hey, you haven't lost him in there, have you? Miss Gracie might like to play. I received my vintage valentine fat book today too. It's SOOOOOO gorgeous! What a fabulous creation it turned out to be. I'm taking it to work tomorrow to share and amaze my fellow coworkers. Good luck on your clean up effort. If you decide not to, nobody has to know!

When I was a kid (yes, I was young once) it was always so much fun to go clean at someone else's home. Some how, I don't think this would be the same. With my Squirrel problem, I can see me now...which way do I go, which way do I go? I'd be too busy looking at all the shiny to be any real help...unless it's help with putting away the C&C...that I could do.
If you could see my space, you'd wonder why the Salvation Army isn't serving coffee and donuts out front!

You know what they say about a creative mind and a messy room. They go hand in hand. I don't have so much stuff... other wise I am sure my room , would look very similar. It seems that winter has sucked the creativity right out of me this year.....

Jodie, your photos of your studio are a comfort to me. I am never going to be like Martha Stewart no matter how hard I try. Your space just looks like an artist lives there.

OMG. My craft room looks EXACTLY like this. I was like, "how did she get a picture of my craft room?" Ha ha! And yes, it's almost impossible to create, let alone FIND anything in there!

I am soooooooo happy to know that you can get messy too.

I'm glad that my creative space is not the only one that does not look like Martha Stewart's. I live in an old creole cottage in New Orleans, in the upper ninth ward. It's got some shabby, but not alot of chic.
