Oh today was a good day! I woke to the sound of my alarm ringing on my cell phone and hubs woke up to the puppy licking him in the face (time to go tee tee for her). It was indeed 6:00 am in the LeJeune household. I was sort of sleepy as I didn't go to bed until after 1:30 last night, I was working playing with my Silver Bella Swap stuff!!!! (That will be another post :) But I managed to pull myself out of bed...
We brushed our teeth, put on some shorts and hit the road...me and my new garage sale buddy, Thad! I must say right now, I think he brought me great luck so it is by law now that he comes with me every Saturday morning! ;)
It all started with my first find of the day...this sewing machine drawer. It was just sitting in the midst of a bunch of "stuff", surrounded by lots of people just passing it up. I lurched for it but it was like I was in s-l-o-w motion...my brain could not catch up with the happiness in my heart! It's mine...for $1, thank you very much ma'am!
Okay, I could have gone home filled with joy and satisfaction at this point, but there were still 4 more garage sales waiting for me!
The next two we stopped at were busts. But at the 4th one I found this precious little oval porcelain pin (sorry it's upside down) for 50 cents. And do you see the beautiful gold material everything is sitting on? Well, that's my new jacket (brand new with the tags) for $2!!! The lady said she bought it from QVC and the color just didn't fair with her blonde hair...yay for me with my dark hair (with only a little bit of blonde streaks)!!!!
Now I guess you know that I got all the rest of my goodies at the last (5th) garage sale. Here is a close up of these cute little porcelain flowers all neatly packaged brand new in the little box. I unwrapped one so you can get an idea of what they look like. They all have a pin back on them, but I plan to remove some of them and use the flowers in my gifting and wrapping...
I haven't even unwrapped the rest as some are different colors and I don't even know yet how many are in the box. But for 25 cents for the box full, I can't be regretful of that purchase!
And here is a close up of those pretty little paper flowers seen in most of the photos above. aaah, they are so romantic! Speaking of romantic...hubs was a trooper and carried my stuff as I passed it to him to hold so I could have my hands free to dig. He's such a keeper! ;)
So with free hands, I started digging through a box that I thought I saw some vintage lace in. Come to find out, it wasn't lace but lots of crocheted trims in plastic bags labeled bed ruffle, curtains, etc. So for $1, I held on to it and passed it to Thad to carry with the thought I could cut them up and use them as backgrounds for my mini art quilt. I could also tea dye them or use them for small pockets on my handmade pillows or apron. After getting home and taking it out of the plastic, I was happily shocked that it was a table runner and 8 placemats! Oh joy~ They are in the background of these paper flowers...(and now I cannot bear to cut them up! :( They are too pretty!)
And last but not least, I picked up this box of sewing notions without even digging through it. For 50 cents, I knew it was mine when I glanced and saw some wooden spools of thread and button cards. I'll be tickled pink when I get off of this computer and go dig through this little box!
So there you have it...my garage sale finds for today. Don't you think hubs should come with me every Saturday from now on??? ;)
But that's not all I did today. I went to an antique/flea market with my sister in law and brother in law in a nearby town and found one more major find I want to show you but I'll save that for next time. I took plenty pictures of some of the most beautiful goods for sale and I'd like to share them with ya'll soon. Right now, I just want to go sit with my goodies and dig through my little box and unwrap my little porcelain flowers and place everything around my happy little studio.
Speaking of studios...be sure and come back on the 24th to get a full glimpse of where I work and create PLAY!
I hope you are having a wonderful start to a beautiful and happy weekend!

Wow, you did have a good day. Every time I see something someone bought at a yard sale that I have, the buttons, lace, thread and other sewing items, I feel bad that I have bookoos of those stashed away and don't use them any more. So Mrs. Vintage I will get them out and do something for my grands. Thanks for the inspiration. Blessings

Hi Jodie,
Wow, did you score! I have to know, are those prices typical of your area? I've never seen bargains like that (or so many great finds in one day) at our garage sales in California. I am envious of your treasures - what joy! Have fun discovering all that you got today, and thanks so much for leaving such a kind message on my blog. You made my day!
Sharon :-)
PS I did find a sweet white lacy apron at a thrift shop today for $2.50 that I thought would make a good base to embellish for Saturday night at Silver Bella. And I thought that was a deal - lol!
You did great. Everything looks so vintage and feminine. How pretty.

It looks like you really hit the jackpot! Isn't it wonderful when you come upon something that was just meant for you to have it. Hubs must have been good luck! Have fun digging through your treasures and have a beautiful Sunday.
Wow sound like you had a lot of fun garage sale hopping! I like the way you written this post which kept me glued to the very end.
This is my first visit to your blog and I am glad I came. :)
Wow love millinery and your crowns!
Happy belated...P.S...Denise
Girl, you did good. I am biting at the bit to go anywhere. When I saw your post yesterday about the garage sales, I was green with envy. Then Patrick comes home and tells me he saw a garage sale in the neighborhood. I was dying. Afraid it will be a few more weeks before I can more at a normal pace.
Good job!!! Oh yes, do take hubs along all the time. I am in love with all those little flowers and sewing notions.
I'm sending you long awaited for application for housekeeper but have amended it to personal assistant and or life coach. In other words (yard saling buddy).
I missed you last week while you were bussy!! Happy to see you found so much stuff. :):)
Love, Payton.
I LOVE seeing what you bought. I would love to go with you on an excursion. I am so glad I get to meet you at Silver Bella. I really feel like I know you, how cool/weird is that?
OMG!
Love it all!!!
Have fun!!!
