The Perfect Weekend...

DSC_0127 (4)

The lights were dim.

The house was quiet.

I was surrounded by the sounds of soothing music and...

beauty...

the smell of lavender...

and the sound of bubbling water.

3,400 square feet of luxury...all to my self.

Listening to the Carpenters and singing along with their famous titles such as Rainy Days and Mondays, Top of the World, and Close to you was all my soul needed to relax, close my eyes and put a smile on my face.

Karen Carpenter's voice is amazing and just singing along made me feel like I was on stage next to her, although I was only in my tub. The acoustics are awesome in there by the way ;)

I hope your weekend has been wonderful and relaxing...

Life passes so fast. Please take the time to enjoy some time for yourself. Rejuvenate your body and soul so you can be ready for whatever comes your way tomorrow~

I hope that you were able to do that one little thing you wanted to do...just for yourself.

Wow, what a FANTASTIC post, so well put together, with the photos and your little captions. I love the idea!! It was enough to relax me just sitting here and looking thru all your pictures!! What a lovely relaxing evening you had. It sounded just too good to be true. Can't tell you when I have had an evening like that the last time, it must be ages ago!! I will have to make an evening like that again, I used to, complete with music and candles and all the little soothing extras. You have inspired me to make sure I have a few hours like that real soon. Debby

Jodie, that sounds like Heaven to me. Wow, is your bathroom beautiful. A girl needs to relax once in awhile. I'm glad you did. I love baths. I never shower. Takes the fun out of getting clean. I don't know what I'll do when I'm 80 and can't get in my tub any more. Is 3,400 square feet your tub or your whole house?lol By the way, consider yourself adopted.
Hugs,
June

Only think missing that I can see is Johnny D. to wash your back!
BTW, don't we all sound like Karen C. in the tub?

No, it wasn't all that relaxing, but I lived vicariously through your fabulous pictures! It's hard to find peace when you have a two year old running around. You have to take it in small doses, like naptime! Have a great Monday!

What did I do? I eat lots of brownies! That relaxing LoL

I do agree when you said the we all should take time from such busy lives. cause really, it's in the simple pleasures that can really help us appreciate life.

Jodie,
Your bathtub area is so very beautiful!! Wow!

And I absolutely adore Karen Carpenter - I was just listening to her earlier this week.

Thanks for the good advice ~ I need to remember this more often.

Ahhhh...I'm relaxed just reading this post and taking in these gorgeous pictures! How funny that you posted this today as I spent some time soaking in my tub last night with lovely scented bubbles, a glass of wine, and Baroque music:). Kramer usually joins me on the stool by the tub (he likes to chase the bubbles in the air) but he was busy watching squirrels outside (or maybe he was scheming to go see his Auntie Jodie:)!

Have a relaxing Monday!
