Not a Gray Day by any Means...

I hope your Memorial Day Holiday was a good one. Mine was wonderful as I spent it with best friends and delicious food!

While hubby and son were celebrating with race car family and friends, I drove my little black Corvette out to the lake.

The forecast called for rain for the whole holiday weekend but who cared? That doesn't stop us Cajuns from getting together, having a good time and most importantly...eating!

Above was the "grill master's" palace as Roland cooked the best second to best barbqued hamburgers I've ever eaten (sorry hubby). Roland's secret...a bottle of Southern barbque sauce, 2 eggs and Italian bread crumbs...yyyuuuummmmmmyyyy to say the least!

And as for Janet (Roland's wife), she's always the sweetest hostess. Always having lots of games to play and lots of snacks and appetizers. Who could resist a water gun fight by the lake right???

And she always has everything decorated so festive...

I have to apologize for not taking any pictures of Roland's delicious hamburgers...when they said "Let's eat"...I threw down my camera and was first in line!!!!

But I did manage to walk around and take some pictures so I could share the beauty with you. Our views from the upper deck...

Having a full tummy and sitting out on the deck in the cool breeze, my eyelids were heavy as the thunder mumbled in the distance. The day was starting to turn gray, but only when my eyes were closed.

I didn't want to leave but I had to snap out of it and get back to reality. I had to get back in my little black Corvette and drive home. (and try to keep my eyes open)

It was a wonderful Memorial Day!

Wow ~ what a wonderful day you had! Looks like a fantastic location and you think of me when you're driving in your fun, sporty car, as I'm driving in my 1997 Ford Taurus or our 2007 Sonata that already has over 80,000 miles on it (the Ford by comparison, only has 40,000 - you can sure tell which one makes the Canada and Chicago drives)

Anyway, glad the rain didn't damper your spirits or the fun. We had rain only yesterday as well, but also had a fun cookout with friends regardless. :-)

Kind regards,
Linda

Hi Jodie,

So glad that you had a happy day and what a beautiful place.
I loved seeing what you did on Memorial day. The park bench, looks like such a lovely place to sit and ponder a while.
What a sexy, sporty car you drive and must be a lot of fun.

Have a great day.

Hey Jodie,
What fun I'm having here, imagining you eluding all the cops in your 'Black Beauty' all the way to that lovely lake. My hubs, the cop would definitly have you on his radar. No, I don't mean that way. I'm glad you had such a great time with your friends. Beautiful pictures as usual.
Hugs,
June

It sounds like a marvelous time! I didn't realize how hungry I was until I read about those hamburgers:) The scenery is just gorgeous and I'm sure the ride home in that black vette was a blast!

Blessings,

The place is of beautiful. Yummy food, being with friends, and a nice view of the lake - it's perfect! Love the color red too :-)

This is a wonderful tour. Loving the cottage in the grounds and the one where it's on top of the water.

This is perfect for Outdoor Wednesday :-)
