My Boy is a WINNER!!!!

The face of determination...

Well, of course my son is a winner in every way possible but today he really IS the big RACE winner! He was the winner of the Quick 16 at No Problem Raceway in Donaldsonville, La.

He races in the Top Dragster division and runs for the Quick 16. (Let me add that Brett is in the top 10 in the points standing at the track!)

Please excuse me if I'm bragging a little too much. I'm just a VERY proud Momma!

First he has to qualify as one of the 16 fastest at the track. But with that powerhouse of a motor behind him, that's not a problem.

Then he has to win 4 rounds against the best of the best & let's not forget to mention the quickest...     Done!!!!   :)    (brag brag)

And a little help from his Paw Paw Teral looking down on him from Heaven and keeping him safe is always a blessing.

Brett is the fourth generation drag racer in the LeJeune family. It's in his blood...there is NO denying it.

He was racing karts at a very young age and started drag racing (NHRA) the day he turned 17.  And now he's about to turn 21...

and this is where he is most comfortable and in total control.

If you are wondering if I am okay with this...I am. I married his dad while doing the whole drag racing thing and Brett grew up right along in the mix.

But now as a mother of a dragster driver, I must admit...I cannot go and watch him race. No matter how old he is...he is still my baby (my only baby) and I can't bear to see that car run 185 mph in 7 seconds.          I. just. cannot. do. it.

So today was a wonderful Mother's Day present for me (& for Thad's mom too) because I know that when they get home late tonight, Brett's smile and his Daddy's pride and joy will be the best present a Mother/Wife could ask for.

Last weekend semi finals, this week he finished his (college) finals, and this weekend, he's the winner of the finals...my goodness!

Our boy is on a roll!

I hope your Mother's Day weekend is as perfect as mine!

That is a true Mother's Day post! You are one rockin' mama to support your son is such a wonderful way. I totally understand about not being able to watch. It's amazing what fascinating lives people live and we get to share by blogging! Our son raced quarter midgets for 6 years, so just one more thing we have in common. A friend of ours was building dragsters for his sil. I'll have to ask Joey for an update. Wouldn't that be cool if you knew him?
Have a wonderful Mother's Day and congratulations for a job well done.

Hi Jodie,
This is just sooo coool! I love it when a mamma is good and proud. You have a lot to be proud of here. He's a winner alright! I did a double take when I saw the picture of your son though. In his cap and sunglasses he looked just like my oldest son, Ladd. He is 27. Without the cap and glasses they might not even look alike, but I really had to look twice.
Have a great M-day!

Jodie, just checking in, I think this post is wonderful. Such a handsome young man. You should be proud. I can relate to not watching though, I don't think I could either. My hubs and I have a friend who is into drag racing with his son. They just love it. It is great to share a passion between father and son. Happy Mother's day again. Love Pam

Hello Jodie!!!

I am so glad to chat with Brett and Daddy(briefly), and later with you Jodie, and now I am at the library and seeing all the updates, the photos, the projects, the visit, everything!!!!!!

I love Brett's dragster... 'professional' it is!!! And more importantly, he won!!! Congrats again Brett!!! :)
I really was impressed with the memorial and dedication emblem of Teral... He is no doubt very, very, very proud of Brett and Thad. OXoxOXox :)

Jodie, your blog is super-amazing.. I keep thinking, okay, how can it get better, but it does... I love it all, and how positive you are, and how you share with so many. I have to go, continue reading and catching up...
