Happy 38th Birthday to Me!!!

October 1, 1970

I guess you can call me vintage, or at least definitely antique!

Today is my birthday and I just wanted to show ya'll what I bought for me from me...

I've always had an eye for dress forms even though I don't sew. I am intrigued with the unlimited transformations that are left up to the vintage imagination.  I just never found a "real" dress form that I fell in love with yet, but when I found these two lovelies here, I just HAD to take them home. Nope, they are not vintage nor "real" but they are wrought iron and very detailed. It was hard to capture them on camera without having shadows. (And I am double excited because they are half off this week!) Yeah!  Meet my two new beauties...

This really is a happy birthday in every sense of the phrase because I just LOVE a bargain! Of course I will "frilly" them up at a later date, but for now I wanted to show you because I  just couldn't hold back my birthday excitement!

DSC_0003 (2) As for this one above, I imagine a deep burgundy silk ribbon running criss-cross through the front bodice with long tails topped by a sparkly vintage brooch between the breasts. Let's not forget to add delicate tea-dyed lace around the top of the chest area & the bottom of the bodice. And maybe some vintage millinery behind the brooch to soften the look.

And as for Missy, she's just so sassy.  I just love her lacy neck and I can just see her hands on her hips telling you all the gossip of the neighborhood. I imagine her only wearing a beautiful see-through vintage apron, waiting to surprise her man with a sexy look and a home cooked meal after he had a hard day at the office...

Okay, I didn't mean for my birthday post to be x-rated...let me stop at that.

Like I said before...I'll leave the decorating up to one's vintage imagination! It's unlimited, timeless and definitely fun!
